You know that feeling when you stuff your arm down into your coat sleeve and your sweater or shirt sleeve gets pushed up, jammed up half way up your arm and you feel caught, ensnared; suffocating with layers upon layers of fabric, closing in; cutting off circulation of blood and air; panic sets in; you realize you are holding your breath.
I can still recall very specific instances of this happening from the time I was about four years old; that feeling that I needed to get that coat off NOW before I absolutely lost it.
I still can't stand that feeling.
When this happens the best solution is to calmly remove the coat, smooth the sleeve, hold on to the cuff of the sleeve and put the coat back on and go on about your business.
Stomping about; huffing and puffing; making screechy, growling sounds with the coat half-on, half-off will only make you look like a crazed maniac.
This may sound like common sense, but you'd be surprised how often people forget this.
So, hide your crazy and smooth your sleeve. It's a lot easier. Believe me. Over and out…
