Herbs are fun and easy to grow. When harvested they make even the simplest meal seem like a gourmet delight. By using herbs in your cooking you can easily change the flavors of your recipes in many different ways, according to which herbs you add. Fresh herbs are great in breads, stews, soups or vegetables. Every time you add a different herb you have completely changed the taste. learn more:

We eat a lot from the dirty dozen list also. Too bad we can't all have our own farms so we know exactly where our food comes from. :) Thanks for teh great info!

It's astonishing how many common household fruits and vegetables are on the 2010 Dirty Dozen list. What's more sad is that the cost of the organic versions of the fruits listed are often too high for many families.

I agree. We eat a lot of those & I do wish I could grow everything we eat! Thanks for always reading!

The Safest Line

It's true. To eat safely and nutritionally, it's often too expensive for many families. I try to pick a few things to buy organically/locally and load up in the summer at our local farmers' market and grow as much as possible in our own garden. The winters are hard though. I certainly can't afford to buy everything organic. Hopefully, this Dirty Dozen list will help people choose a few to buy items organic.

Thanks for reading and commenting,
Anna
