So, I lied. I have one more Blissdom-related post.
Nuggets of Wisdom
As I was going back over my notes from the keynote speakers I was reminded by all of the nuggets of inspiration and wisdom bestowed upon those of us "Following Our Bliss," and I wanted to share them with you.
Choose Discomfort Over Resentment ~ Brené Brown {Don't agree to do something just because you think you should, but know you will later resent the fact that you agreed to do it}

The Scoop
If you are curious about what else these perceptive thinkers, writers and speakers have to say I suggest you buy their books. While I have yet to open Brené's book, The Gifts of Imperfection, I can't wait to delve into it and my own thoughts and feelings. I recently saw a tweet from someone saying she wanted to start reading Brené's book, but was also scared of what she would find out about herself when she did. I did not realize it until I read this tweet that I was feeling the same way. And it all comes down to vulnerability....
I did not buy Scott's book, UnMarketing, but I've been thinking about the concept of "unmarketing" so much that I think I better get it and read it too. Unmarketing is all about connecting with people and building relationships with people who in turn do business with you because they have a relationship with you. There are so many customer service instances that beg for some "unmarketing." It's all really very simple, but for some reason most people just don't get it.
Is this awesome enough to post? What do you think? What's your favorite sound bite? While both Scott and Brené are truly funny and great speakers, their messages are quite different. Yet both authors offer much perspicacity whether you're an online writer or not. Over and out...
Anna

Thanks for sharing this! I love it all, but my favorites are "Owning our stories and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do" and "The key to living and loving wholeheartedly is allowing ourselves to be vulnerable". Yes, I think I would like to read Brene' Brown's book as well.

Thanks for your mention of Brene Brown in this post. For those readers who do not know of Brown, she gives a great talk at TED.com. As one who enjoys good TED Talks, I liked Brene's very much! Jim Melfi, Founder, videotalks.org
