And all the men and women merely players:
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
~William Shakespeare, As You Like It
Do you ever get the feeling you're a character in a movie and you can see how the plot is going to play out? Do you ever feel that you're the underdog and that the heavenly host is pulling for you even though the devil wrote this particular scene? Do you ever think that real life is mimicking the craziness of a soap opera script? Well, sometimes I do.
But what if this was a movie?
Well, I'll tell you. If this was a movie this would be the moment right before I win the ginormous super duper lottos to end all lottos. This would be the time that the executor of a long lost relative from my dad's dad's mom's mom's side came looking for me, one of the last living relatives, to give me an inheritance of gold.
If this was a movie this would be the scene when a publisher discovers Motherly Law and comes knocking on my door with a book deal and big fat advance. This would be the instant that an anonymous donor paid off all outstanding debt, including the mortgage, and deposited a sizable amount so that I could spend the rest of my days writing and hanging out with my family and having coffee dates with my friends.
Well, it's not a movie, at least as far as I know, but sometimes it's nice to dream for a minute or two. Then, SNAP, back to reality. And, in reality, things could always be much worse; in reality, it doesn't take much to make it a great day or even just a great hour or two {and just forget the cruddy parts for a bit}; and in reality, things just move slower than a movie. My shining movie moment is coming. You just wait and see! Over and out...
