Oh, Anna - I feel for you. We had a friend commit suicide a few years ago and it was terribly shocking and devastating for her family and friends. We just never know what's going on with others - especially since we live so much of our lives on the surface, in our "I'm fine, how are you?" days.

Beautifully written, Anna. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of a dear one. I've attended 3 funerals for those who have taken their own life. Seeing the utter despair in the faces of their family and friends is so heart wrenching. I've also had numerous conversations with a dear friend who contemplated suicide for a number of years, whom I'm happy to report has made her way out of the darkness. She still struggles now and then, but she does firmly believe that joy always comes again. Maybe not exactly the next morning, but it does come with faith and prayer.

Very true, Mela! Just the point I make in my posts from Monday and Wednesday - so easy to miss the little signs.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for your comment, Brenda. So very true; it may not be the next morning, but joy will surely come. God is always present.

I, too, have been to 3 funerals for those who have taken their own lives, and each have had far-reaching and long-lasting effects on their friends and family.

Thanks again, Brenda!
